Anyone can learn to play a tune on the piano. But, have you ever met a person who really knows how to play? You know, the one who just blows your socks off? They might be a pro or just a friend of yours.
I bet if you talk with them, you'll realize that their playing goes well beyond just knowing some simple chords and how to apply them to songs. I bet they know music on a deeper level. They know their theory and how to use it.
I know, you're probably thinking that learning music on this deeper level will probably take years. Right? Maybe you are saying: "I don't have the time.", "I'm too old.", "I'm not good enough." or "I just want to sound cool right now!"
Guess what? It really doesn't take that long. You're never too old. And, no matter what level you're at, you should be working to learn music on this deeper level.
"So, how do I learn the right way?"
First, I want you to picture the world. Well, actually, picture a globe of the world. If you hold up the globe and look at it, you'll notice that you do not see the entire world all at once. You need to turn the globe in order to see every part.
Now, imagine that globe is music. Often, methods and teachers will teach you to see and experience music in only one way (like looking at only one part of the globe). This might be "traditional" music reading, learning to only use your ear, colors, wheels and all sorts of gadgets.
These methods might succeed in getting you "up and running" quickly, but you soon find yourself looking for the next DVD, book or CD that will help you really understand the concepts.
To learn the right way, the first time around, you want to be taught...
To learn music on a deeper level, you also want to...

My Pain...Your Gain!
When I was a kid, I picked up every imaginable book, recording and video I could find that would teach me how to improvise at the piano. It was only years later that I studied with a teacher and graduated from Berklee College of Music. But, I still learned most of what I know today by hard work and trial and error. You know, the "School Of Hard Knocks" method.
But, this quirky, roundabout way of learning music actually helped me to formulate easy techniques, so I can teach you how to improvise and understand music on a deeper level.
The methods I've discovered to break down those "impossible" jazz techniques have been published by Alfred and MelBay, two of the major music publishers.
Now, remember, you are not just purchasing a lesson on DVD. You are gaining a teacher that cares to know that you are learning. You will never be left "out in the cold" with JazzPianoLessons.com. Support is only an email or phone call away.
As far as my professional playing career...I have performed with or shared the stage with members of James Brown, George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic, 420 Funk Mob, Combustible Edison, The Dixie Chicks and others. I have also recorded three CDs and have toured with my group, Katahdin's Edge.
Getting To The Next Level -- Today.
Before we go on, are you serious about learning the piano?
You Bet! I'm A Motivated Student!
Are You Looking For...
If you answered YES to these questions, excellent! You are well on your way to becoming the best player you can be. Now, let's get into the details...
Like I said earlier, I am going to show you how to train your ears while learning the theory that will set your playing free. My goal is to get you to the next level.
You DO NOT need to know how to read music. However, you must be willing to practice!
You're Going To Learn...
...Really hot licks and rhythms along with a swingin' bass line that's easy to learn.
In fact, the membership area is so jam packed with valuable resources that you'll be surprised how often you keep coming back to learn new tricks.
It does not matter what style of music you currently play...if any at all! If you are an absolute beginner, this is a great place to start.
If you already play Gospel, Contemporary, Urban, Funk or other styles of music, you've probably noticed that they are beginning to "melt" together.
Extraordinary musicians go beyond style boundaries.
You will learn how to break out of the "one style" player mold. I am going to teach you this and more.
