My Proven Jazz Piano Method
I too struggled as a young player to learn the “secrets” of jazz piano. What I learned was that there are not really secrets. Instead, there are ways of approaching jazz piano that are easier to understand than many of the current methods.
Over the past two decades I have been creating a method that makes it easy for both beginner and advanced players to take their piano playing to another level.

Teaching Should be Free!
This was a comment that an Internet user posted on a YouTube video of mine. While I agree with the premise, I disagree that teaching should be free. If anything, teachers should be better paid!
Becoming a good teacher involves a lot of time and commitment. I have spent my entire adult life (and most of my childhood) learning, practicing and mastering the piano.
I am not a “fly by night” teacher either. I have studied the Alexander technique, Kodaly method, Suzuki piano, learning styles, behavioral styles and more.
I also take great care in preparing, filming and presenting these lessons to you to make sure that the skills that you’ll learn with me will allow you to both expand your knowledge while also learning the language of music properly.
Sure, there are many other piano methods online so why should you choose my lessons?

Hi– I have been playing music off and on all my life. However I never played piano till a couple of years ago. I read music well. I have a very good understanding of chords. I can play scales with both hands. I want to learn to play jazz piano and what I would like is some guidance on what lessons and what order I should take them. I will spend between 2 and 3 hours a day practicing and plan on signing up for a year.

Inside of the member’s area you’ll find a piano syllabus that will help you organize your piano practice. The syllabus will help you learn more about piano chords, jazz improvisation and more. Basically, it will show you which piano videos to watch and in what order.

I prefer to learn theory and technique from songs. It looks like this program requires you to learn the theory and technique separate from the songs.

Actually that is not true at all. There is a bunch of theory in the songs. The program is setup so that you can learn concepts and theory on its own, OR learn theory through application in a song.

Excellent resource! I am currently in the process of taking my playing to the next level. I believe your courses are complete, to the point and they eliminate all of the unnecessary learning curves out there for aspiring piano players like me. I think its great that you cover all aspects of what it takes to be a complete piano player. Most courses do not cover all the angles, let alone Hanon.
Nonetheless, I am curious to know : ) “If I become a Gold member, can I also request the material (DVDs or Books) to be shipped to me also or would I have to pay an extra fee or amount? And secondly, would there be a special price for all of the online material to be shipped or is this material only available online?
This of course is that I would much rather have access to the material even offline to use if in the event I have no access to the Internet.

Just wanted you to consider recording a dvd titled “Fake Book / Chord Chart Analysis. Take a fake book chord chart and take us through an analysis of the passing chords and substitutions that can be inserted between the chords in the song’s progression. Also the chord progression from the chord chart one can vamp off of with the possible scales to use for the improvisation over the chord progression.
